The elderly are especially vulnerable to malnutrition, as they are usually at home alone or in nursing homes. The consequences of malnutrition are worse quality of life, an increase in mortality and a rise in the use and cost of health care resources.
The aim of the NutriPro project is to undertake a study to evaluate the impact that using a tool such as MNA (Mini-Nutritional Assessment) as an integral part of the care routine can have in detecting malnutrition in nursing homes.
